One more time around
If there is a season, Dave Andreychuk is officially going to be part of the Lightning during it.
Dave signed a one year deal with the Lightning, making Martin St. Louis the lone holdout as the lockout looms large over the entire landscape of the NHL.
One more time around… But this time with a mountain off his shoulders as he has indeed hoisted Lord Stanley’s Cup.

I was shocked to read this story.
I expected him to follow in the footsteps of Borque, Hasek, Elway and others who retire on top.
This only begins to raise more questions though. Who’s going to be the captain now? Is Lecavalier still the Heir-apparent to the Captainship? Is he going to settle for second banana around there? Is Richards and St. Louis going to wait?
Is a 40 year old going to be able to play an 80 game season? or (40 or 20 games depending on the lockout)

There was no real sign he was going to walk away even if the Lightning won the cup… but he has stated if the lockout lasts for a while - he’ll retire.
I don’t think Vinny should have the captainship myself. I know he was a captain early on in his career but I think there is someone better to be captain on the Bolts besides Vinny, or Marty or Brrad Richards: Freddie Modin. He’s been an assistant captain for a while and he puts in as much hard work as any of the aforementioned players.
