Lord of the Rinks: Ring of the Kings

Tampa Bay Lightning Championship ring

Tuesday the Lightning had an unglamorous ceremony in the bowels of the St. Petersburg Times Forum in downtown Tampa where some — certainly not all — players were handed over

Of course, the Lightning’s player rep - Tim Taylor - took this as an opportunity to launch into another pro-Union triade:

“It was a joke. For this community not to share in this? I think it’s a slap in the face the NHL has given our fans because they should’ve been involved.

“This should have been at the Forum in front of 22,000 people as we walk up and get the rings and open it up and show the fans. I personally feel the NHL has taken some of that away from us.”

(of course, for a pro-Union triade, acknowledgement of the fans is something new)

You can read the full article and more of Taylor’s comments here.

While somewhat glorious… that ring is fucking hideous. :)

  2. John Says:

I don’t know, Gary… it’s better than some of the recent first-time champ rings out there (the Florida Marlins, for example)

  3. Michael Says:

I really like it. I think it looks great.

Gary… it’s supposed to be a guys commemorative ring. Did you want some sparkly metrosexual design?
