Mr. Roy goes to Pittsburgh.

There was talk early on this week about the Penguins obtaining Tie Domi as Sidney Crosby’s designated protector. Now they don’t have to — André is capable of being the teams strong man and capable of taking a shift for non-grinding purposes as well (anyone else fondly remember his goal to open up the Lightning’s scoring in Game 1 of the playoffs vs. the Islandeers?).

Sad to see you go André and here’s wishing you the best of luck.

J.R. out of Philly

Forberg joined the Flyers — putting them over the cap and making loudmouth moron Jeremy Roenick expendable.

So, in the desperation “Take him off our hands, PLEASE!” deal, the Los Angeles Kings have acquired J.R. and a draft pick for “Future Considerations.”

….And I try to contain my laughter at that. It’s a free pass. Draft pick? Maybe. Prospect? Maybe. Cash? Maybe. Nothing? Maybe. Roenick should feel insulted and broadsided by Flyer organization… He should have a bone to pick in L.A.

Or he’ll just flap his gums and ruin hockey on the west coast. Take your pick

From the Trib:

According to reports, Khabibulin was offered a five-year deal from the Lightning worth between $25 million and $30 million before the free-agency period opened earlier this week. The offer is believed to still be on the table, but other reports have indicated that Khabibulin is seeking closer to $7 million per year.

Lets cut the crap Nik… If you’re going to chase the money elsewhere - just say that Tampa Bay is off your list. If you’re drawn at all to stay with the Bolts - do it. By stringing the team along, you’re compromising the Lightning’s ability to compete in the market. We’re waiting on you.

Speaking of which - Jay Feaster better have more of a plan B up his sleeve if Nikolai does move on because there’s too much out their to neglect. I wonder where Bill Barber stands with all this and what he’s feeding the front office?
