I’ll keep this short, Tommy o’the’Sticks has found several families in the Bay area who lost everything because of Hurricane Katrina and he is starting a collection of goods over on Sticks of Fire. If you have clothing, shoes or toys you would like to donate and live within the Tampa Bay metroplex, you may want to get in touch with Tommy on his blog.

Eric Perrin and Shane Willis have signed in Switzerland and Nikita Alexeev has signed in Russia. It remains to be seen if the Lightning will sign another defensiveman or give prospects such as Mike Egener or Gerard Dicaire a full shot to make the team.

The Lightning signed Todd Rohloff to a one year contract. An AHL defensiveman last year and former teammate of Dan Boyle (they played together at the University of Miami, Ohio). Rohloff will probably get a chance to compete for a backup roll if not a starting job with the Bolts.

Timo Hebling was already inked a few weeks back as the Lined Up Update was reporting, but Hebling isn’t expected to be the #6 defensiveman and probably will either be a backup or headed north to Springfield.
