Just to give some perspective on how the sports world differs in the south to traditional hockey markets, there is rampant talk of league wide stuff probably going on in every city in Canada. Boston’s probably fuming over the Thornton trade and other cities above the Mason Dixon line will address pertinent issues over and over again, along with getting interviews with players and coaches and reporting on the home team.
Here? While the Lightning have an extended rest (they resume play tomorrow versus the Blues), the stories are thus: Sticks, Reflections and “True Original”video coaching.
So yeah, it’s not quite the same.

The thing is, those are all great stories, and they’re well-written, too. If more Canadian markets had guys who could approach the game that intelligently, I think we’d be better off up here.
I don’t think I’d complain about a publication like the SP Times covering puck talk.
Should be good weekend of hockey. If you have a chance the goal play of Thomas Vokoun is worth a look live. Bolts need to wipe up the ice with Blues and help them keep singing em.
Saw Nashville up here against the Caps last night (unfortunately, they had Mason in net). If the boys in black are going to beat the Predators, they’re going to have to play a way tighter game than they did against Chicago. Think they’ll be able to pull it off?
