Scarfing down a couple tuna melts before heading over to the Forum. Listened to Steve Duemig on the way home, and even he seems excited about this game…or as excited as he can be about something that’s not gambling or golf.
Time to go. C’mon Bolts, I need this.
March 30th, 2006 at 6:45 pm
On vacation, I have no radio or tv broadcast available. Is there an internet solution for me? If not keep me posted.

Well, do you have speakers Tiny? You can pick up the radio broadcasts through NHL.com or Yahoo.com
Don’t know if WDAE does a live audio stream or not
March 30th, 2006 at 7:26 pm
LINE SHAKEUP! Afanasenkov, Richards and Fedotenko on the top line. Whoa.
March 30th, 2006 at 7:32 pm
Pre-game beer run… hopefully nothing important will happen w/in the first 5-10 minutes of the game.
For tiny: the direct link to WDAE’s feed is:
http://www.620wdae.com/cc-common/streaming_new/index.html?refreshed=yes
Just checked it, and it works just fine.
March 30th, 2006 at 7:35 pm
Gary, don’t take your friggin’ time this time! :p
If Alex comes around, will you make sure your brother has a case at his place next time before a game starts? Thanks.
March 30th, 2006 at 7:39 pm
JF: There’s nothing I can do about the time it takes to run to the 7-11. The local popo’s have my street blocked off for some reason… I’ll have to hoof it, if they’ll let me through. Go Bolts!
March 30th, 2006 at 7:42 pm
Lots and dump and chase…
March 30th, 2006 at 7:46 pm
AFFY!!!!!!!
March 30th, 2006 at 7:47 pm
Outshooting the Thrashers 3-1 but there has been twice as much play in the neutral zone/the Lightning’s own end than the Lightning attacking. So the shot total surprises me.
March 30th, 2006 at 7:59 pm
I’d rather come back to a lead. Hrm… “suspicious package” is the reason for the road closure. Hopefully the Lightning will drop a “bomb” on Atlanta tonight. Ugh. I know.
March 30th, 2006 at 8:01 pm
WTF is Mellanby’s problem?
March 30th, 2006 at 8:03 pm
What a weak-ass powerplay.
March 30th, 2006 at 8:05 pm
Amen, Gary.
I want to know from anyone on BM tonight — is it just me or does Lecavalier almost seem invisible out there lately?
March 30th, 2006 at 8:06 pm
Another power play opportunity
March 30th, 2006 at 8:07 pm
Looks like he’s not doing so well on the face-offs, either. Another Tampa Bay flowerplay.
March 30th, 2006 at 8:13 pm
I missed the Affy goal–and despite them outshooting the Thrashers 8-5 (according to Peckham)–I can’t see anyone on the ice working like they want to win this game. I guess, at this point, we’re lucky they’re up by one after the first. Perhaps I should be watching the Caps game?
March 30th, 2006 at 8:18 pm
they just seem so focused on playing defense that they can’t get shit done on offense. It’s frustrating
March 30th, 2006 at 8:31 pm
another “Sour”play coming up
March 30th, 2006 at 8:32 pm
IMHO, there is no reason that Tortorella should keep putting Sarich on the point. He’s a sieve on the blueline during the pp.
March 30th, 2006 at 8:35 pm
The problem is — they don’t want to take risks with untried players right now. It’s sorta the anti-thesis of “Safe is Death” They’d have called up Egener and Dicaire if they weren’t playing it safe but instead playing with the best potential from Springfield.
March 30th, 2006 at 8:38 pm
It’s kind of sad when your 3rd or 4th line spends more even-strength time in the offensive zone than your “hero” line. Sorry to be so negative, but they’re suckin’ ass tonight.
March 30th, 2006 at 8:46 pm
That says something Gary —
It says “Who’s worse? Tampa Bay, injury riddled, or Atlanta?”
March 30th, 2006 at 8:51 pm
Another PP coming up.
March 30th, 2006 at 8:54 pm
Two for Affy!
March 30th, 2006 at 8:54 pm
Affy gets the Duece! Is this his coming out party?
March 30th, 2006 at 8:55 pm
whoa!
March 30th, 2006 at 8:56 pm
3-0! Oh, please Grahame don’t screw this one up…
March 30th, 2006 at 8:57 pm
Holy moly. Toolman.
I was just about to ask why the Bolts kept trying to stuff the puck in at the post when Lehtonen has been stopping them all night.
Then, Taylor answers my question.
March 30th, 2006 at 9:01 pm
Helbling’s been playing well. Grahame, too.
March 30th, 2006 at 9:01 pm
I’m going to say it again, this really tells you something… “Who’s worse? Tampa Bay, injury riddled, or Atlanta?”
Right now, the glaring answer is Atlanta. And they are doing what they can to prove it.
March 30th, 2006 at 9:04 pm
Caps aside… yet strangely related to the Bolts: Stanley Cup Champion Ben Clymer scored to tie the game against the Habs. Assist to Calder Trophy shoe-in Ovechkin. Back to your 2nd intermission regularly-scheduled commercials.
March 30th, 2006 at 9:13 pm
JF: Apparently your spam comments filter is set for stun. No Caps posts allowed.
March 30th, 2006 at 9:14 pm
You kidding? BRB — I wanna see what Spam Karma ranked as spam…
March 30th, 2006 at 9:17 pm
Where did you post that one from, Gary? Spam Karma was giving you minus-points for having a browser that doesn’t have javascript, and it also said you had no recent comments on the site (bullshit, I know).
I’ll have you register with BM so you get around that shit in the future.
March 30th, 2006 at 9:20 pm
Later on, Gary (and every other regular commentor on Boltsmag) — go here: http://www.boltsmag.com/wp-register.php
Register your screen name and you shouldn’t be hasseled again by my anti-spam programs, or having to log in to comment (unless you somehow get logged out of Boltsmag)
March 30th, 2006 at 9:21 pm
JF: Same browser as all the other comments, with JavaScript turned on (as usual). I’ve been having router troubles all night (Airport base station took a giant shit on me), so maybe my IP addy changed? Although, that doesn’t explain why the subsequent post went through…
March 30th, 2006 at 9:27 pm
exactly. Just consider it an anomoly.
Atlanta isn’t playing like they want this.
March 30th, 2006 at 9:31 pm
Ranger, baby. I wonder who I should vote for in your poll.
March 30th, 2006 at 9:31 pm
Ya damn rookie! 4-0!!!!
March 30th, 2006 at 9:32 pm
I voted for Paul cuz defense is overlooked. His importance has gone up a notch during this time of adversity with Boyle and Kubina out…
March 30th, 2006 at 9:38 pm
Artyuhkin did that whole head smashing thing, though… it’s a toss-up.
March 30th, 2006 at 9:41 pm
Grahame–as we all know–is fallible.
March 30th, 2006 at 9:46 pm
He’s got 4 minutes to blow the game. I don’t think the guys in front of him will allow it to happen.
You gotta love the effort — even if they’ve looked bad at times — by the beleaguered Bolts.
March 30th, 2006 at 9:49 pm
Grrrrrrrrrrrr
Grahame = teh sux0r
March 30th, 2006 at 9:50 pm
oh good god
4-3
March 30th, 2006 at 9:54 pm
Holy shit. I’ve been watching the Caps game (tied the score w/ 2.5 seconds left in the third). Atlanta has scored twice in 4 minutes?
March 30th, 2006 at 10:06 pm
Yeah… They do that shit too often.
Keep us posted on the Caps game, we’re effected by the outcome… GO CAPITALS!
March 30th, 2006 at 10:39 pm
Back home. 4-3 Bolts.
Weird crowd…lottsa folks, not much noise. Very late arriving, too.
Vinnie looked like he was doing his compulsory figures at times. Not really in the game. Dunno what’s up with that. The Lightning showed glimpses of brilliance, out-muscling the Thrashers for minutes at a time in the offensive zone — and then just kind of quitting.
Oh, well. The end result is the same.
March 30th, 2006 at 11:22 pm
Way after the fact: Caps stole a point from the Habs, but they trickled one past Kolzig (I thought he had it) in OT to get two points.
March 31st, 2006 at 1:04 am
F’in dial up! I couldn’t keep a connection all night. Maybe the call waiting?
Thanks for the recap everyone (wow 50 comments!). Not to pat my own back but I’ve been saying Torts never gave Affy a chance with decent linemates. I believe I said you can’t put a scorer with “bangers and mash” players and expect serious output.

One of these days I will actually NOT have tickets to the game so that I can join you guys here….
