I’m usually not big on petition sites (tried it one time and it didn’t work out) but I believe this deserved mention…
There is an Online Petition campaign against Barry Bonds.. It’s in it’s early stages and has no stated goal besides “Stoppign Bonds” but I believe the concept to be true….
Barry Bonds continued play and involvement with Major League Baseball is a cancer, and a full whiping of the record books is needed to deal with the cheats of the last few years.

Who cares if it is useless? I signed it anyways. By the way, John….I agree with your stance on the DH. It is just another marketing tool to keep the “names” in the game, allowing the pitcher to forget that actually swinging a bat is an important part of the game.
from everything I’ve read and heard Bonds is an egotistical jackass who alienated everyone he came in contact with, but he’s not the only one in baseball who took steroids.
how do you decide which records to wipe and which to keep?
for years Roger Maris had an asterisk next his home run record because he had more games to break the record than the Babe. the commisioner placed the asterisk next to Maris’ record and the commisioner removed the asterisk. that seems like the best solution for all the records set in the steroid era.
anyway, the whole bonds situation is starting to turn into too much of witch hunt for me. it’s just too easy to blame Bonds for everything that has gone wrong with baseball.
I agree with the statement that the Bonds situation is just part of what’s wrong — but I want to see some action taken against these guys.
I think Selig is just as detrimental to the game as the Steroid scandal. His lack-of-action on a number of issues (Joe Jackson’s reinstatement, drug testing, etc) is only being done to drive up hype and help owners profit… Not for the good of the game.
