Rejoice, Lightning fans… Roberto Luongo is heading for the Pacific Northwest.

A constant thorn in the Lightning’s side since he came to the Panthers several years ago, Roberto Luongo has my respects as possibly the best goaltender in the National Hockey League… He is heading to Vancouver in a blockbuster trade that sends Todd Bertuzzi to the Florida Panthers

    Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

I had so many visual gags in store for the coming season! I was going to raise trying to throw him off his game to the next level! :o)

    Bastards.

  2. Hinch Says:

Well, he was never coming here. So three time zones over wil work.

Playing the Stinking Panthers will never be the same, tho.

  3. Marsha Says:

I want the guy for our team. Didn’t he just build a dream house in South Florida? Didn’t he say that he wanted to remain in Florida but be on a team that made the playoffs?

There are those ever present rumors that the Lightining could get Luoungo for Lecavlier….wouldn’t that be like selling your soul to the devil though? I can’t imagine that has much real weight to it. I kinda feel for Luoungo cause from what I read it doesnt seem like he knew the trade was coming, or wanted it.

No martian brodure is the best goalie look at the stats

  6. John F. Says:

WAS. Past tense. Look at his age. Look at when he was putting up the best statistics in the league - and he was playing behind a solid defense to boot.

Meanwhile, Roberto Luongo has been impressive while playing behind weak defenses with the Panthers (and on horrid teams).
