Put the Modin rumors to bed

I know that Boltsmag regular and TB blogger Tiny commented the other day asking about Freddie Modin rumors that were making rounds.

Though a deal to re-acquire Modin would follow Feaster’s MO of keeping the locker room chemistry snazzy, Lyle over at Spectors reported (via the Columbus Dispatch) that Modin’s close to re-signing with the BJ’s. That being the case, don’t expect a sign-and-trade deal like in the NBA if things get done.

That is a shame. Modin would look great alongside Brad Richards at this time of year.

I agree poor Brad has really stood out these past 2 games and I think been dominant but he has NOBODY to finish on his line.

I love EP but so far he is just not a finisher in the NHL and Feds is just so streaky I hope he heats up in the playoffs or we are going no where with only 1 line.

Have you heard any trade rumors regarding the Bolts? We absolutely need to spark the offense in the second line, as a minimum. Defense has looked better the past few games. But I agree - we cannot hit the playoffs with just one line.

DF — I highly recommend keeping up with Lyle Richardson’s web site http://www.spectorshockey.net for rumors (and make sure you stay away from that BS’er Eklund).

There are two rumors that have been around for a while: Feaster wants to shore up the defense through a trade and one of the players that are up for barter is Ruslan Fedotenko. Russ is a UFA after the season and will command a bigger payday than what Feaster is willing to pay.

The last rumor that I saw (yesterday) had the Islanders and the Flames interested in Feds. The Flames have defense to spare…

I have more thoughts on this but I hope to make a blog post about it.
