I hate matinees (Pens at Bolts)
Unless you are actually attending an aternoon hockey game — or a midday game that pops onto the schedule with thanks to one holiday or another — I believe the concept of these matinee hockey games reeks. They are beautiful for the fans who attend, methinks, especially on a Saturday afternoon during the season…
But a Five PM start time in Tampa on a Sunday? WHat gives? Trying to beat the Oscar rush?
André Roy reminded the Lightning faithful why he doesn’t get more minutes of ice time at the end of the Bruins debacle the other night… And his three-game suspension is more proof of it. Jay Feaster called up RW Kyle Wanvig (who was acquired earlier this season from Atlanta) to take ROy’s place ont eh roster.
Is this a game where the Bolts get there groove back or do they get put in their place by the hottest team in hockey?

I only have one thing to say after that first period:
Wow!

The Bolts are looking like a winner today! Great comeback after the Boston fluke. Passing is sharp, the defense is all over the Pens, and Holmer is sharp. And how about Ranger’s goal…
Go Bolts!

Torts owes these guys a steak and lobster dinner with a crab bisque appetizer. We literally owned one of the hottest NHL teams on ice. This was a complete game…I had to add these remarks to give the lads their due tonight.

Torts seemed irked after Taransky’s 2nd fight with Talbot… But then again he has wanted more grit.
This was just a far and away great effort.
I just wish Perrin got the damned goal that he just misse don. Great play by gochar to prevent that.

Now I have to defend Roy? That was by far the worst officiated game of the season. Just an example, Marty has two hands on his stick and has the puck while three Bruins molested him and he gets a holding call. That ref had a bone to pick as Torts alluded to. Roy is there to defend the team with every fiber in his body, emotions will run. With a score of 6-2 he’s not hurting the team in any way.
