[...] This also confirms the Lightning had #47 snatched up by the Panthers this year (which was the conditional pick in the Chris Gratton trade). [...]

Nice Gary!

I am a huge Vinny fan first of all. However last time I looked at the roster in 04 Vinny had a little help to lift the cup over his head.

And when Gratton was here he had..... Oh yea Darren I hurt my back 25 times Puppa in net. Poops was a great goalie when and he actually played.

We had a bunch of defenisve forwards around Grats from what I remember - Zams, Anderson, Weimer, list goes on. I remember that we would have one other player that could score in those days like Reneberg or Clark but that was about it.

Lets let the past be just that and move on. Grats is certainly no Vinny, but then few people are. I say give him a fresh start and lets go get a scoring winger for the 2nd line. This gives us a 3rd line that can actually really play and score instead of having 2 4th lines.

Dude, I just learned of the Gratton trade... um... about 45 seconds ago.

My initial reaction: WTF? Are you F'ing kidding me?

Then I read that whole, "perfect third line center" quote. How's that for karma? He was "the cornerstone of this Lightning franchise" back in the day.

Sure, nobody ever called him the "Michael Jordan of hockey", but at least that guy stuck through the shit to win the Cup... and the Rocket Richard.

Welcome back, Chris. I still think you're an ass.

Love,
-Gary
