The Schedule

The Schedule is out! The Schedule is out!

NHL.com has the Lightning’s exact schedule and opening night (October 5th) will indeed have the Bolts facing the Carolina Hurricanes at 7:30 at the St. Petersburg Times Forum.

I get sick looking at how many times the Lightning play the Panthers or Hurricanes or Thrashers (sidenote - any other Tampa Bay resident mistaking THrashers for Threshers lately?). The Panthers and Bolts play a home-and-home series on the 7th and 8th of October and 2 games within a week in April.

The Bolts deal with Western Conference teams in early December as well as mid January…. The rest is an eclectic mix of the Eastern Conference.

The NHL has just released the 2005-06 schedule. Get yours here. And boy, is there a lot to get excited…

Four games in D.C. for the Bolts this year. Things are starting to look up around here. :) Now I have a valid excuse to go into the District.

Hey, at least you aren’t a Hawks or a Wings fan. They play each other back to back to back. That’s right. Three games in a row versus the same team.

Gary, I’ll see you there at the MCI Center … funny story about a game there during our Cup season: after a long Bolts power play spent entirely in the Caps zone, the Caps finally cleared the puck with 5 secs or so remaining, I stood up and sarcastically (and drunkenly, I should add) applauded the heroics by the Caps and promptly had a beer poured on me … I was being an asshole, guess I deserved it
